When the trusted name in homebuilding supplies and the premiere exhibition company meet, a fruitful partnership happens. For many years, Wilcon Depot and Worldbex Services Inc. have worked together to present the annual Worldbex, the country’s biggest trade expo for construction and design. This continuous collaboration has resulted to a growing partnership for the betterment of the industry.

For more than a decade, Wilcon has been part of Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition or Worldbex. The decision to be part of this exposition has been instrumental in getting great opportunities for Wilcon to show construction professionals and trade enthusiasts its collection of top-grade homebuilding materials. Starting with a small booth space, Wilcon now occupies a large booth area, enough to exhibit its array of merchandise that answers the home needs of every Filipino homebuilders. Indeed, the company’s participation to exhibits and trade fairs has opened an avenue to meet more clients and discover new trends beneficial to the company in order to live up with the growing and fast-changing market.

As time goes by, both companies merged and came up with an exciting project called Obra Maestra, which is currently on its fifth year. An annual competition that has colleges and universities as its participants, Obra Maestra is a design contest that brings out the talents and skills of interior design students through exhibition of their own creations and original home-design concepts. This is held with the support of the Council of Interior Design Educators.

Indeed, Worldbex has been a reliable and dependable partner of Wilcon. And the company is truly grateful for the trust and faith Worldbex has been extending to Wilcon, as both look forward to more fruitful partnerships and building ideas in the years to come.

Slated to take place on March 11 to 15, the highly anticipated 20th Worldbex will cover a total exhibition area of 30,000 square meters at the combined venues of World Trade Center and the Philippine Trade Training Center.

Bannering the theme of “Building Visions in the Realm of Asean Integration,” the trade show will be showcasing what the Asean region has to offer. With 500 participating companies and close to 200 booths of international representatives from all over the world, this year’s Worldbex is the largest one-stop shop for design and construction enthusiasts to discover new products and services in the global market.

The Architect’s Gallery will present several top architectural firms while the Interior Designer’s Gallery will showcase a spectrum of interior design vignettes by the Philippine Institute of Interior Design.

In partnership with the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines, there will be the Furniture Pavilion showcasing the trend-setting creations of the country’s largest furniture manufacturers and exporters.

Aside from the Obra Maestra Competition that has 11 schools competing for this year’s title, Worldbex will be launching two new events for this year. Firstly, the PALA Design Competition is set to showcase the works of landscape architecture students. Secondly, the first-ever Worldbex Lab will have a curated selection of displays of the outstanding product and design innovations from the exhibitors.

Lastly, adding an even more exploratory dimension to the exposition is the much-anticipated Worldbex Seminars. Twelve internationally and locally renowned speakers will be discussing the most pressing issues of the industry as well as insightful presentations to further enlighten the visitors.

Topics include Urban Design and the Greening Cities: Design Trends and Technologies; The Value of our Heritage in Interior Design; Designing Communal Spaces in Urban Residential Developments: Maximizing the Potential of Landscape Design; and Diversified Architectural Practices.
