Ayala unit joins electronics show
Ayala-led Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. (IMI) seeks to gain greater global market share in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and power semiconductor assembly and test services as the country’s lone representative to Electronica 2014, one of the biggest electronics trade shows in the world.
IMI announced Monday that it would exhibit at the Electronica 2014 trade show on Nov. 11 to 14 this year in Munich, Germany.
“Once again we have this opportunity to make our fellow Filipinos proud. As the only Philippines-headquartered and Filipino-owned electronics company in Electronica 2014, we get to show the world that Filipinos excel as well in electronics manufacturing and that IMI is among the best EMS providers in the world,” said Arthur Tan, IMI president and chief executive officer.
“Everybody talks about Filipinos moving out to different countries and here we are, a Filipino company operating in different continents of the world, hiring and providing employment as well for the French, Czechs, Bulgarians, Chinese, Mexicans and others. We are a Filipino company that is proudly global,” he added.
Ayala-led IMI will showcase at Electronica innovative solutions, including high-value product design and development, advanced manufacturing engineering, test and systems development, automation and manufacturing capabilities. The company serves global original electronics manufacturers (OEMs) in diverse industries such as automotive, industrial, medical and telecommunications infrastructure.
“As we focus on delivering more value to our OEM customers, we have enhanced our solution offering, venturing beyond the traditional EMS and into high value solutions including custom automation and plastic injection,” Tan said.
“We have also developed platforms for next-generation electronics products such as motor drives, automotive cameras and power modules,” he added.
For the automotive market, for instance, IMI’s motor drive platform uses unique assembly technologies while taking advantage of component integration to achieve high quality and reliability, Tan said. The company’s automotive camera platforms offer thermal management properties and optical performance while being the smallest available in the market.
Tan noted that IMI’s “wide geographic footprint and technical capabilities allow us to take on the specific outsourcing needs of our OEM customers.” In serving the demand for electronics manufacturing within the European region, Tan said that IMI had “the talent in Bulgaria and Czech Republic who can understand OEMs’ industries and businesses, as well as technologies and how to maximize these.”
