TV5 International celebrates unprecedented growth

MANILA, Philippines – Pilipinas Global Network Limited (TV5 International) recently revealed the official news about its unprecedented growth among Overseas Filipino viewers based in the Middle Eastern and North African regions.  In just three years, TV5 International has now significantly become the second most watched Filipino channel in the said regions.

The announcement of this company milestone, which was shared in an exclusive event attended by TV5 International executives, media agencies, corporate/trade sponsors, and select members of the media, comes after the renewal of the successful partnership of TV5 International with Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) – the number one Pay-TV platform in the Middle East and North Africa.

In the midst of the celebration, TV5 International President Mr. Claro Carmelo Ramirez had this to say, “This is a huge milestone for TV5 International as not only are we celebrating a successful partnership, but we are also celebrating the fact that our young channels already enjoy over 1.2 million viewers in the Middle East, surpassing some other older channels. This is significant, and we are very proud of how far we have come in just a matter of three years.”

The renewal of the partnership reaffirms TV5 International’s commitment in bringing TV5’s diverse range of quality programs to every overseas Filipino household all over the world, through both the Kapatid TV5 and Aksyon TV International channels.

Filipinos in the Middle East will continue to enjoy TV5’s top entertainment programs via Kapatid TV5—which includes made-for-TV film offerings of the Studio5 Original Movies; the widely-followed socio-experimental television show, Juan Direction; the weekly comedy guilty pleasure Tropa Mo Ko Unli; the longest running gag show on TV5, Wow Mali Pa Rin; and the newest daily tawaserye starring Ogie Alcasid, Gelli de Belen and Alice Dixson, Confessions of a Torpe.

In addition, it is through the exclusive partnership with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) that allowed the country’s premier men’s professional basketball league to gain momentum and growing popularity among Overseas Filipino sports enthusiasts based in the Middle East and North African regions. Aside from the PBA, the nightly news program Aksyon, anchored by Erwin Tulfo and Cheryl Cosim and the viewing of the action-packed games in the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) is also made available exclusively via Aksyon TV International.
