Convergys enters ICT Hall of Fame
MANILA, Philippines—Convergys was elevated to the 2014 International ICT Awards’ Hall of Fame for having won Best Employer of the Year three times—in 2007, 2009 and 2012.
The company also won Best Company of the Year twice in the history of the awards.
The International ICT Awards is held annually to recognize corporate and individual contributions for the promotion of the Philippines’ IT and business process management industry.
The awards introduced the Hall of Fame this year to recognize an organization that has won in any category for at least three times.
Convergys is the first to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as Best Employer.
Convergys, for years, has consistently excelled in strategic HR (human resources) leadership and management, HR competencies, practices, policies and performance.
Convergys remains the Philippines’ largest private employer, with its workforce now 55,000-strong after having completed its acquisition of Stream Global Services in March of this year.
Convergys currently has 33 operating sites across the country, from Baguio in North Luzon to Davao in Mindanao. Of these, seven are in Cebu.
The company currently serves clients and customers from North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, New Zealand and Australia.
Industries served are telecommunications, technology, retail, financial services, entertainment and media, healthcare and automotive industries.

“We are further excited that, with Stream (2013 ICT Employer of the Year) now part of our team, our combined organization will be even better, stronger, and more formidable,” Mueco added.
Aside from the ICT Awards, Convergys is also in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority’s Hall of Fame for winning both Exporter of the Year and Employer of the Year three times.
Convergys also bagged the 2013 American Chamber of Commerce award for Corporate Social Responsibility—Improving Quality and Access to Education, for its Convergys Community Action Network driven by employees at each site.
