What is more exciting than shopping for furniture? Well, shopping for furniture that is on sale, of course!

I recently discovered that Novamobili, one of the top Italian furniture companies in Europe, has a shop in the country. Their flagship, spacious shop is right next to Fully Booked at the Bonifacio Global City and has an ongoing, up-to-40-percent-off sale on all its furniture. The Novamobili showroom occupies close to 400 square meters in the second floor of Building 6 on Bonifacio High Street at the BGC, and features 100-percent Italian-made furniture designed for modern living.

“We are very excited to open our Manila showroom. We hope to meet our Filipino clients’ discerning taste when it comes to top-quality furniture. After all, behind our brand is a specific philosophy—a true commitment to impeccable design,” said Mario Battistella, president of Novamobili, S.p.A.

The Novamobili Manila showroom is their seventh in Asia. The other stores in the region are located in Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Bangkok, Hanoi and Singapore. Novamobili has more than a thousand showrooms around the world, mostly in Europe.

Jaime Daez, managing director of Novamobili Philippines, told me that, “We are very excited to introduce Novamobili, one of the premiere Italian furniture brands, to the Philippine market. Novamobili stands for ‘new furniture,’ representing current design trends and technologies.” For more info on the brand, call 738-2430 or email [email protected].

Novamobili presents new solutions for even the most compact spaces with complete and functional furnishing systems fitting seamlessly into any environment. The result is a unique lifestyle that can interpret a range of tastes, be it refined or informal, classic or contemporary, minimal or modern.

Novamobili is most well known for its Reef sofa, Sissi armchair and tables, Wing walk-in closet, Plisse wardrobe, Tempo Giorno wall system and Pigreco table. Established in 1967 by Alfredo Battistella, Novamobili stands out for its inclination toward research, innovation and design. It combines cutting-edge technology with manual processes to ensure top quality products.

“The high-end furniture market in the Philippines is getting more and more competitive as more foreign brands are represented in the market, but I hope most of our customers realize that quality craftsmanship can be obtained at relatively affordable prices,” Daez said.

Novamobili’s products are Greenguard Indoor Air Quality certified, the most stringent international certification on chemical emissions. It uses a water-based lacquering system that reduces atmospheric pollutant emissions by 95 percent, and environment-friendly panels created with a production process that does not require any trees to be cut down. Even the cellulose used to produce the Novamobili catalogs comes from properly managed forests, in line with Forest Stewardship Council standards.

Of course, for those shoppers who want to patronize local designs, a good choice would be the Kenneth Cobonpue shop at The Residences, San Lorenzo Tower, Arnaiz Avenue, Makati City. Among the many things to buy there is the limited edition Kenneth Cobonpue tea lamp set called First Light.

First Light is a project of the Habitat Youth Council, and proceeds will be used to rebuild homes of the families affected by Supertyphoon “Yolanda.” The tea lamp set looks like home sculptures and is perfect for any setting.

First Light is also available at Swatch Shops all over Metro Manila. It’s the perfect gift for this holiday season.
